Ascension St. Vincent marked Doctors’ Day on March 30 by honoring the dedication and compassion of its physicians serving patients and families throughout Indiana.

The annual recognition highlights the important role doctors play in delivering care at every stage of life, from trauma interventions and advanced cardiovascular procedures to preventive primary care and complex specialty treatments. The organization said its physicians deliver thousands of babies each year, perform innovative surgeries, lead clinical advancements, and mentor future healthcare professionals while supporting patients during vulnerable moments.

“Doctors’ Day is an opportunity to pause and recognize not only the skill of our physicians, but their calling,” said Don King, President and CEO of Ascension St. Vincent. “Our physicians combine leading-edge medicine with deep compassion. They care for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit — and their impact is felt in communities across our state every day.”

According to Ascension St. Vincent, its doctors are guided by a mission-driven approach focused on serving all people, especially those most in need. Their leadership extends beyond hospitals as they work with employers, community organizations, emergency medical services teams, and local agencies to improve access to care and strengthen population health.

During National Physician Week, Ascension St. Vincent has been sharing stories that illustrate the purpose behind the medical profession—from mentoring residents to pioneering new treatments or supporting patients through difficult times.

The organization invited community members to join in expressing gratitude for Indiana’s physicians who serve with skill, integrity, and compassion.
