Vanderburgh County ranked 68th among counties in Indiana by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Vanderburgh County residents was $27,095 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 75,607 households with a population of 181,291.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Hamilton County with $46,631 per year after adjusting for inflation – $19,536 more than Vanderburgh County. It had 119,789 households with a population of 323,117.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was Monroe County with $22,409 per year after adjusting for inflation – $4,686 less than Vanderburgh County. It had 55,624 households with a population of 146,461.
