Dunn Hospitality Classic Opens With OCU Victory Over CU-Harrodsburg

In the opening game of the Dunn Hospitality Classic, hosted in the Johnson Center at Oakland City University, the Mighty Oaks took on the Pioneers of Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg. After battling to a 39-34 halftime advantage, OCU held off multiple runs to win 74-67. 

Tyquez Priester led the way for the Oaks, coming off the bench to make 7-9 from the field to post 17 points. Allen Sims added 16 counters, making 8-14 of his field goal tries, followed by Abdul Wurie's 15 point effort on 6-6 shooting. DJ Redding also reached double figures, making 6-9 from the floor on his way to 12 points. Priester also nabbed a team high in rebounds with seven while also taking game highs in steals (three) and blocked shots (two). 

Kereion Douglas paced the Pioneers, scoring on 8-14 from the floor, including 3-8 from three point range, to notch a game high 20 points. Chris Rawlins added 14 counters, followed by Ethan Jones who came off the bench to add 11. Douglas was also the game's leading rebounder with eight. Jones and Tyrese Duncan each had three assists to lead CUH.

As a team, OCU held a 27-24 rebounding edge, despite trailing 6-3 on the offensive glass. The Oaks made 33-52 (63.5%) of their shot attempts, going 2-6 (33.3%) from beyond the arc. The Pioneers connected on 26-55 (47.3%), making 9-24 (37.5%) from three point range. Oakland City was 6-11 (54.5%) from the foul line in the game compared to 6-9 (66.7%) for the visitors.
