47 coaches at institutions in Vanderburgh County earned $52,156 on average in 2022

Vanderburgh County’s 47 coaches earned an average salary of $52,156 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the ninth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Indiana post-secondary schools during 2022.

Vanderburgh County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, University of Evansville stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $53,905.

Male coaches of men's teams received $59,139 on average in Vanderburgh County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $44,189.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
