On Friday, March 21, former Castle High School standout Alex Hemenway’s current collegiate team the Vanderbilt Commodores lost 59-56 against the Saint Mary's Gaels in the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship Tournament.

Hosted in Rocket Arena, this was the first game against the Saint Mary's Gaels during the championship.

Alex Hemenway’s hometown is Newburgh and game position is point guard.
